FUNimation Confirms Tokyo Ghoul 3rd Season? Slated for 2016?!

Funimation confirms a 3rd season for Tokyo Ghoul in the recent press release?

EVERETT, WA – GameSamba and FUNimation Entertainment, both Group 1200 Media companies, have announced today that they are beginning production on a video game based on the hit series, “Tokyo Ghoul.”
“Tokyo Ghoul,” created by Sui Ishida, was adapted into an anime television series in 2014, and is distributed in the U.S. and Canada by FUNimation. The series takes place in a fictional Tokyo, which is plagued by human-looking monsters named Ghouls. Humanity lives in fear of Ghouls, which survive by feasting on human flesh. The Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG) forces are the only thing that stands between humanity and the fearsome Ghouls who hunt them.
“Ever since we began simulcasting the anime series last year, fans of the Tokyo Ghoul have been clamoring for a mobile game,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and President of FUNimation Entertainment.  “With Season 2 now finished and Season 3 set for 2016, the anticipation for the mobile game has only grown higher.”
The new “Tokyo Ghoul” game will focus on the conflict between humans and the CCG. By selecting a side, players will be able to help determine the path that the conflict takes. With elements of RPGs and action games, the “Tokyo Ghoul” game will remain faithful to the source material’s style, as players choose to hunt humans, or protect them.
The game will be available in English worldwide on Android and Apple devices. It is currently scheduled for release in 2016. The home video release and the digital HD dub version of “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 1 will be available starting September 22, 2015. The digital subtitled version has already been released.

Sukedachi Nine

Did you know Masashi Kishimoto has a brother who is also a mangaka? Well we did and here's Seishi Kishimoto's newest manga Sukedachi Nine http://readms.com/r/sukedachi_nine/001/2627/1

Set in the near future after the Japanese government has passed the Vengeance Act, a law which legalizes revenge killing, the series focuses on the members of the Special Execution Team of the Judicial Police Force, known as Sukedachi-nin (助太刀人, "Avengers"). These so-called Avengers are tasked with seeking vengeance on behalf of the bereaved by executing criminals using the same methods they themselves used on their victims.

Sukedachi has a somewhat dark theme to it, being based around murder, death, and revenge. The Manga starts off strong and really draws you into not only the story but the characters. This is a manga you want to be following, with some of the bigger mangas ending this looks like a good one to fill the void.

ME!ME!ME!: Modern Art, Social Commentary, Or Both?

So if you've been anywhere near the internet in the last few weeks, you've heard about, if not already seen ME!ME!ME!: A anime music video (for lack of a better term), made by Anno Hideaki (the creator of Evangelion), Teddy Loid ft. daoko, and Studio Khara. If you haven't watched it, stop reading, watch the video located in the link below and come back. *Warning* The video isn't safe for work or the general public. Watch this alone if possible.
The video premiered at Animator's Expo and received a mixed response within the anime community. This is largely due to the graphic nature of the video, with heavy amounts of gratuitous violence, overtly sexual imagery on the brink of pornography, and use of psychedelic drugs; As an anime-viewer that's hardly too far from the norm but that's where the heart of the video lies. It's a social commentary on Otaku culture and I'll explain why.
The video centers around "Syu-chan", a "vanilla" Otaku character. He's lying in a messy room, his ashtray littered with cigarettes, anime models and paraphernalia lining the walls and shelves of the cramped confines of his room. He's lying on his bed, staring at his desk as his tablet begins to flicker and he starts to imagine buxom anime girls dancing for him. This represents the loneliness and despair Syu is feeling due to his "obsession" with anime/manga and possibly something else.
At this point, we're introduced with the manifestation of Syu's obsession and his regret: a nude masked girl. Later on, we see a bleak scene where she is on the ground, unmasked, crying out to him and yet he's unsympathetic as he walks away. This stands out against the saturated color scheme and tone of the music shown throughout the rest of the video. This illustrates his guilt, as it comes back to literally gnaw on him, particularly his intestines.
Like anyone else in pain, the first reaction Syu has is to get rid of the cause of his pain. So he fights his obession: he fights the representation of his lust, addiction, and despair and ultimately loses. Then the video loops back to the beginning and plays again. That's the beauty of "ME!ME!ME!", it perfectly illustrates the struggles of addiction. So long as he's alone, he's bound to repeat the cycle of obsession, regret, and depression.
This is a serious issue, although it's not just limited to the Otaku community which is probably why plenty of people got angry. While the art, animation, and music are all superb, they are mainly vehicles to deliver this social commentary. Honestly, I'd expect nothing less from Anno Hideaki. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below and thanks for reading!

The Seven Stages of Denial When Your Favorite Anime/Manga Ends

We all have our favorite anime/manga series that we've grown to love and resonate with, but what happens when that series ends? It doesn't matter if you're a super-fan that's collected all the merchandise that exists or if you're just a casual reader/watcher; Chances are, you're going to experience these stages (in any order). This can also apply to the death of your favorite character or the debunking of your One-True-Pairing.

Shock & Disbelief:

Initially, you won't believe it's ended. Your mind will enter a state of shock to protect you from being overwhelmed by your emotions. This could last a few hours to weeks, depending on how involved you were with the series. You'll continue your routine as if nothing happened until you move on to the next stage.

Pain & Guilt:

Once you're no longer in shock, the emotions that were suppressed before will hit you like a rasengan in the gut! You'll be over-whelmed and that's healthy. Just remember that all things come to an end and there's nothing you could do.

Anger & Bargaining:

With all the emotions you're feeling, you're eventually going to experience anger as well. You'll blame the mangaka, other fans, and you'll start selfish online petitions to bring your series back, even if the mangaka has moved on.

 Depression & Loneliness:

Eventually you'll realize there's nothing you can do. Most people around you won't understand how much this series affected you, so you just lay there, in despair, reflecting on the series.

Stability:

As time goes on, you'll channel your emotions into something positive. You'll still miss your series, but by now you might start looking at a new series because someone suggested it to you.

Application:

You'll take what you learned from that series, the mottoes of your favorite characters and use it to better your life. You'll find more people with common interests and eventually move on to the last stage.

Acceptance & Hope:

You've accepted your fate and even though the series ended, it lives on through you. You've found new series to follow and you'll once again experience the excitement that comes with a great manga/anime. You might even start shipping characters again!

Losing a anime/manga isn't an easy thing, especially when it's really affected the person you are. Just remember, life goes on and there are plenty of other fans who've felt the exact same as you.

The end of Bleach ( Manga ) in 2015 confirmed : Bleach Anime Will Make Its Return!?

At long last, the end of the epic Bleach manga has been confirmed — Ichigo’s current battles in the 1000 Year War Arc against the Quincies will come to a close in 2015. This major news was accompanied with questions about the return of the popular anime show, as thousands of fans around the world have been asking since the final episode, “Will Bleach anime ever return?” Ecumenical News has revealed this Tuesday, August 26, 2014, that the animated show will in fact be making a possible comeback once Tite Kubo’s incredible tale of humans, hollows, and soul reapers finally ends.
Although Bleach may have had its anime series finish early (or be shut down due to an overload of filler episodes, says some sources) back in 2012 accompanied by the conclusion of the controversial Fullbring Arc, it seems our favorite Getsuga Tensho user is making his long awaited appearance (cue soundtrack music from the Rescue Rukia clip!). This arrival will be heralded sometime after the manga finishes its ongoing run. According to the report, Ichigo and his friends will make their incredible return to the small screen for fellow Japanese animation fans this 2015 once the manga formally ends.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS OF BLEACH MANGA AHEAD:
I personally may have be an ongoing fan of Bleach who still enjoyed the Fullbring Arc, but many readers understandably began losing interest in the series following the defeat of Sosuke Aizen to Ichigo’s Mugetsu technique. Quite a few believed that this downward spin in popularity and story continuity may have all been contributing factors in the ending of the Bleach anime seasons. Yet the manga has continued, and thank goodness for that.
With the Quincies’ arc making an amazing return for manga followers and showing that Tite Kubo certainly still has some surprises up his sleeve with solid art and quality, a renewed interest in Bleach has risen to the top of the heap. It appears that 2015 will be a culminating year for Bleach; this final 1000 Year War Arc has subsequently led to increased demand for news regarding the fates of Ichigo, Rukia, and Co., no doubt. An in-depth look is provided this week by iDigital Times in an interesting press release.
After all, Bleach left too many questions to simply fall off the scale for die-hard fans and simple enthusiasts of its storyline, art form, or themes. Will Aizen have a future role in the manga? Just what is Uryu’s part in the Quincy invasion? Who is the Soul King? And most importantly: what is Captain Shunsui Kyoraku’s bankai that we’re not supposed to see? We have to know!
While rumors as to the return of the Bleach anime in 2015 have been suggested for some time now, there is alleged confirmation of this great news for fellow fans of the manga that's been delivered this August. No official sources have commented on it quite yet, but it appears that there is a definite possibility of the anime reviving once the manga finishes up. The best point of news associated with this claim is that the anime return would not require any unnecessary filler episodes.
Others may only be getting (back) into Bleach now, but there’s definite reason to do so before the manga ends and the anime returns. From the history behind Quincy King and leader Yuha Bach (Ywach) to the secrets of his army attempting to conquer Soul Society and now the Royal Realm, it looks like there’s much in store before Ichigo can say his final goodbye. In addition to some captains still not revealing their Bankai, only Kubo knows what Bleach mastermind Kisuke Urahara has hidden in the fold of his clogs and hat.
Engaging storytelling is back with the current fight between Captain Toshirou Hitsugaya and Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi (yes, Mayuri is up to his old tricks again involving drugs and meme-worthy laughter with the faithful Nemu at his side), but some long-anticipated secrets have already been revealed. From Kenpachi learning the name of his Zanpakuto to Retsu Unohana proving she was indeed the First Kenpachi behind that luring smile, the beginning of the Bleach manga again in 2015 can’t come soon enough for many fans.
So yes, without further ado, there are sources citing that the Bleach manga will have a confirmed end in 2015 with the current arc. Is it true? Hopefully. Yet an exact date as to when the anime will make its glorious return amid the speculation (from Pierrot Studios again, perhaps) has not been made public yet, and no concrete statement on the matter has been given. So fellow Bleach fans, are you excited about the potential behind this bankai worthy news? How do you think Ichigo’s story will come to an exciting close? And what fights in the current Quincy vs. Soul Reaper arc are you most looking forward to seeing adapted if and when the anime rolls around?
